Inspired by the Art Deco icons of Miami, Florida and buildings like the Queensland Public Trustee, Nerang Street and the Hotel Cecil, corner of Nerang and Scarborough Street, the design evokes a fluent, streamlined and timeless design bridging into the now.

The overall massing and composition of the design has been developed to acknowledge the adjoining streets, the street corner, and neighbouring properties. The design takes inspiration from the Art Deco movement by accentuating the horizontal layering of the balconies and adding refined details to the balustrade treatment and screen detailing.

The project will contribute positively to the image, quality and overall identity of Chevron Island. Its resolved and expressive built form will positively complement the neighbourhood.
