Swordfish House is a contemporary waterfront residence that reinterprets the relaxed coastal character of Palm Beach through a thoughtful integration of architecture and interior design. The interiors respond directly to the site, subtropical climate, and layered forms of the two-storey dwelling, creating calm, light-filled spaces that feel both grounded and elevated.

The two upper-level pavilions, floating lightly above the solid masonry base, shape a sequence of interconnected volumes inside. This produces generous proportions, shifting scales, and playful overlaps of light and shadow that define the living experience. A refined material palette carries the coastal vernacular indoors: exposed timber elements, custom brickwork, and tactile surfaces deliver warmth and texture while maintaining restraint. Subtle pastel tones echo historic beach houses, infusing the home with softness and familiarity.

Deep eaves and generous openings are celebrated internally through carefully positioned windows and sliding panels that frame expansive views across the canal and hinterland. Operable timber screening and strategic shading moderate sunlight, while promoting natural cross-ventilation for year-round comfort. Primary living areas flow seamlessly to the sheltered waterfront terrace, with the pool, spa, sauna, and private pontoon extending the sense of indoor-outdoor living.

Rich yet understated finishes, including dark timbers, stone elements, and considered lighting, establish a calm, atmospheric environment throughout. The self-contained western pavilion offers flexible, self-sufficient accommodation for guests, multigenerational living, or a home office, complete with its own cohesive interior identity. The upper-level master retreat occupies a privileged position, opening to panoramic water views and a private, serene atmosphere.

Through its sensitive response to context, materiality, and climate, the interiors of Swordfish House enhance the home’s evolving coastal identity while delivering an enduring, highly liveable family sanctuary.
