The design approach was to create a timeless and enduring architecture with a form and function that effortlessly adapts to the coastal lifestyle of Mermaid Beach. A holistic approach of architectural excellence, liveability, passive design, practicality, functionality and the application of robust materials while being sympathetic to the surrounding environment were key design considerations in the overall building design.

Breaking down the scale, Mali’s built form has been separated vertically via a whole-floor of communal space located centrally on the tower façade.

Providing extensive amenity for residents, this level provides a large fitness centre, infra-red sauna, resort pool, dining and kitchen facilities with outdoor bbq and seating areas. The interior material palette of deep timber tones and natural stone offers a rich juxtaposition with the restrained external façade.

The project offers a resolved dynamic design with a high level communal recreation facilities and favourable outlooks ensuring excellent amenity for residents.

The project offers sophisticated design to create a new signature building in this Broadbeach locale. The built form projects significant design merit with well composed and interesting use of a controlled palette of materials and colours. This building will set a new design benchmark for this important emerging Southern Broadbeach precinct.
